PUNCH GALLERY
Animal Spell, a two-person exhibition featuring the work of founding member Justin Gibbens and Boston-based artist Amy Ross. Both artists specialize in their own versions of subversive natural history illustration. Founded by a group of artists from central Washington, PUNCH promotes the creation of new work free from commercial constraints.

SUN VALLEY CENTER for the ARTS
SVCA presents a group exhibition of contemporary bird artists including works by Justin Gibbens, Jacqueline Bishop, Kathryn Spence, Misako Inaoka, and Rigo 23. As a counterpoint to this exhibition, the historic works of John James Audubon, Morris Graves and Jessie Arms Botke will also be displayed. The mission of the Sun Valley Center for the Arts is to provoke and stimulate the imagination while opening hearts and minds through excellence in diverse arts programming.

KIRKLAND ARTS CENTER
Nature Freak. This group exhibition features deconstructed, hybridized and otherwise manipulated plant and animal specimens that have been reassembled in strange and lovely ways. This show includes work by Renee Adams, Howard Barlow, Shannon Eakins, Justin Gibbens, Jim Rittimann, and Amy Ross. The Kirkland Arts Center Gallery fosters regional artist, encourages innovation and creativity, and provides rare opportunities for independent curators.

2007 ARTIST TRUST GAP Recipient
Artist Trust awarded 77 GAP (Grants for Artist Projects) Grants to Washington State artists working in all disciplines across the state. The award will support Wonderland, Gibbens’ project to document his journey hiking Mt Rainier’s Wonderland Trail by way of natural history illustrations. Artist Trust is a not-for-profit organization dedicated exclusively to supporting Washington State artists working in all creative disciplines.
